How PowaHub calls your endpoint

You do not build anything special to sell on PowaHub. You point us at an endpoint you already run, and we call it when a buyer pays. This page explains what your endpoint needs to do.

What you give us#

When you add a listing, you give us:

  • The URL of your endpoint and the method (GET, POST, and so on).
  • An optional path, added to the end of your URL. Use {param} for the parts that change, for example /price/{symbol}.
  • An optional auth token, if your endpoint needs a key. We send it with each call.

How a paid call works#

  1. A buyer's agent calls your listing at its PowaHub address.
  2. PowaHub handles the payment for you, using the open x402 standard. You do not write any payment or crypto code.
  3. Once the payment is settled, PowaHub calls your endpoint. We use your URL and method, add your path, and pass along anything the buyer sent after it.
  4. Your endpoint returns its normal response, and PowaHub passes it straight back to the buyer.

Because PowaHub wraps the payment, your endpoint only needs to do what it already does. Take a request, return data.

What makes a good listing#

  • Return clear data. JSON works best. Return the answer for the inputs you were given.
  • Be reasonably fast. A buyer's agent waits for your response, so aim for quick replies.
  • Stay available. Listings that are reliable get bought more, and reliability is part of what earns Premium status.
  • Handle your inputs. If your endpoint needs parameters, put them in the path (using {param}) or accept them in the query string, which we pass through.

What you do not need#

  • A crypto wallet or any x402 code. We handle payment and settlement for you.
  • To change your existing API. If it already returns data over HTTP, it can be a listing.
